Genre: Romantasy
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Tropes: Enemies to lovers, Marriage of Convenience, Murder Mystery, He Falls First, Grumpy Sunshine, Dual POV

Synopsis:

The story plunges us into the kingdom of Brightmere, where Princess Neira is left to hold down the fort while her father, the Dread King, is off fighting a war. Just when things couldn’t get more tense, she’s betrayed by her own court and handed over—completely naked, mind you—to the conqueror of her kingdom, Erqis, the Grey King. As if that weren’t enough, Neira is forced into a marriage of convenience with this arrogant yet oddly endearing conqueror and whisked away to his palace. Cue the enemies-to-lovers tension that we all live for.

What I Loved:

One of the standout elements of The Fell Queen is its intricate magic system and world-building. Camille Dwight has crafted a universe that feels both expansive and mysterious, leaving me eager for the sequel to uncover more secrets. Erqis’s huntsman and best friend, Qavor, is a scene-stealer with his deadpan humor and eye-rolling sarcasm—especially when he and Neira bond over their shared frustration with Erqis’s over-the-top arrogance. And speaking of Erqis, his blend of cockiness and charm makes him the kind of character you love to hate…until you just love him. His silly flirtations are the perfect balance to the story’s darker moments, and the spicy scenes? Let’s just say they are definitely a highlight.

Conclusion:

All in all, The Fell Queen is a romantasy gem that I’m thrilled to have read early. With its compelling characters, sizzling romance, and intriguing world, it’s a book that’s definitely earned its place on my shelf—and it should be on yours too! I can’t wait for the next installment to dive back into Neira and Erqis’s world.
